Helping utilities modernize the systems, processes, and cross-functional alignment needed to keep up with rising demand, a more complex grid, and growing regulatory and customer expectations.
GET IN TOUCHFor decades, utilities could afford to move slowly. Regulation set the pace and change came in cycles measured in years. Today, the pressure is coming from every direction at once: data center load, increased demand, real-time customer expectations, a more complex grid, cyber threats, and rising regulatory scrutiny. Standing still isn't really an option.
Most utility companies face the challenge of disparate systems and processes that were built for a different era. That's where Trenegy comes in. We help utility companies modernize the systems and processes behind the work that keeps the lights on.

The grid is more dynamic and more fragile than ever. We align operations, capital planning, and technology so utilities can manage load growth, integrate renewables, and respond to outages with speed and certainty.

Growth through acquisitions and contracts creates operational sprawl. We bring structure by standardizing systems, processes, and reporting so service providers can scale while maintaining control.
This isn't your father's utility. The grid isn't waiting for companies to catch up.
We help utilities move from paper to electronic, modernize maintenance and asset systems, centralize control operations, and transition IT to the cloud with the right governance. Storm response is a good example: we help design the plans, implement them, and make sure they hold up under pressure.
We also focus on making AI useful, whether it's outage response, demand forecasting, or operations, so it earns its place and delivers real value.
A lot of the real work is alignment. Generation, transmission, distribution, back office, and customer operations all have to move together. You'll find us in control rooms, alongside field crews, and in the back office working alongside internal teams so changes can be sustained long-term.

Client Situation: A rapidly growing E&P company was scaling quickly through a series of multi-billion-dollar acquisitions
Our Response: Trenegy was engaged as a long-term transformation partner across finance, operations, and technology.

Client Situation: A private equity-backed midmarket energy services company spanning nine entities was growing quickly through acquisition, but legacy systems couldn't keep up. Each entity ran its own accounting, payroll, HR, benefits, and procurement systems, creating disconnected data, inconsistent processes, and limited visibility into profitability. High turnover compounded HR and payroll challenges, and a looming shutdown of existing purchasing cards added urgency. Leadership sought to standardize processes, optimize assets across entities, and strengthen controls ahead of an eventual public offering.
Our Response: Trenegy helped orchestrated a strategic ERP rollout across all entities, covering future-state process design, testing, change management, and a replicable framework for future acquisitions. We also helped establish an equipment holding company to pool assets across entities. In parallel, we consolidated benefits, HR, and payroll into a centralized system, coordinating vendor integrations, managing data validation amid high turnover, and supporting a successful go-live. We also helped stand up a new expense management platform and single-bank purchasing card program.
